Become a Printing Elf!

Our organization encourages the participation of volunteers who support our mission. If you are interested in contributing to our cause, please fill out the form below. Volunteers in California’s Central Valley are able to receive filament in exchange for toys.

Shipping toys can be expensive. If you are outside the Central Valley, and want to donate toys you might want to look at IC3D’s annual toys for tots program. https://www.ic3dprinters.com/3d-printed-toys-for-tots/. There might be a location closer to you to donate to your local community.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Printing Elf.

Acceptable TOY Filaments

We only use the following filaments: PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA.

We DO NOT use, nor accept toys with the following filaments: filled filaments, glass fiber (GF), carbon fiber (CF), wood filled, stone filled, TPU, etc.

Glitter and glow in the dark of the accepted filaments are okay.

Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming a 3D Printing Elf

Submit Your Application

Fill out the Elf Application Form to let us know you’re ready to join the workshop. This is your first step toward becoming an official 3D Printing Elf!

Photograph Your Prints

Take several clear, close-up photos of each model from multiple angles. Email the images to us for review.

Photo Review & Feedback

We will examine your submitted photos and let you know if there are any issues. You may need to repeat Steps 2–4 to meet our quality standards.

Send Test Prints

Once your photos are approved, send 3–5 printed copies of each model to us for a physical inspection.

Final Model Review

We will inspect the models you sent and provide feedback. You may need to repeat Steps 5–6 until the models meet our quality standards.

Mass Production Approval

After your models pass inspection, you will receive the “Good to Go” to print as many models as you like. We will guide you on which models are accepted for production.

Ship or Drop Off Your Prints

Mail all your approved models to our workshop. If you are near Fresno, CA, you can drop them off in person and exchange them for filament. (We only offer filament exchange in person; we do not mail filament.)
